Would you use a mallet or dead blow hammer to fix a wooden chair?
I have a set of varnished wood chairs. The cross beams are coming loose and need to be put back in place. Should I use a mallet or a dead blow hammer to secure them? When they are back in place should I leave them be or put wood glue or loc-tite in the holes to keep them in place? The hammers for wood working i have seen were made of wood hollowed out with lead pellets inside that were loose. This to me would be more like a dead blow than a mallet.
